As an activity of the Alzheimer's month, a college outreach program on Dementia awareness in Karmashree Hiteswar Saikia college has been successfully concluded by the Youth Brigade of ARDSI, Guwahati chapter; engaging about 40 students and the assistant professor of the college. Participants learned about the signs and symptoms of dementia, the role of students on dementia care as well as effective strategies for supporting affected individuals and their families. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many attendees expressing a newfound understanding and empathy towards those living with dementia. This initiative not only raised awareness but also fostered a commitment among students to advocate for better support systems in our community.

1. On 19th May, 2024 ARDSI organised a meeting for formation of Youth brigade under ARDSI Guwahati Chapter at Dementia Day Care Center. President Emeritus Dr.Ajaya Mahanta, President Shri Subha Brtra Sarmah, and the members of ARDSI Guwahati, Shri Rajkamal Bhuyan,  Dr M Hussain (AIIMS,Guwahati) and Mrs. Debastuti Baruah attended the meeting along with invited youths . The meeting took a strong initiative to focus on dementia and its awareness in different parts of Assam with the help of youth Brigade. In the first phase, a Youth Brigade called 'Forget Me Not' was formed with the cooperation of the youths from different districts of Assam. The meeting also formed a youth Bragade committee of ARDSI. Our member Dr. M Hussain will be adviser of that committee.
